Volunteers

We need YOUR help to make RE BarCamp Orange County a huge success!

RE BarCamp Orange County is the result of a a great team of volunteers who have donated their time, effort, knowledge and resources in order to pull together this great learning opportunity for all.  The primary planning team would like to acknowledge the efforts of those who have contributed to making this event possible with a special shout out to Eric Stegemann who is responsible for getting this website up and running.

Want to help out?  We need volunteers to help in the following areas:

  • Event Promotion:  We need you to tweet, blog, facebook and email about RE BarCamp OC!  Specific things you can do include -
    • Follow @rebarcampoc on Twitter
    • Tweet out about the event and encourage people to RSVP and spread the word.  Don’t forget the hastag! #rebcoc.
    • Like us on Facebook www.facebook.com/REBarCampOC
    • Suggest to your Facebook friends that they like our fan page.
    • Write a blog post.  What a great way to share something of value to your real estate readers!  Take a look at post examples from Jeff Dowler or Stacey Harmon.
    • Email the pdf flyer we created to your office or anyone you know who might benefit from attending.
    • Add a the registration widget to your blog or website.  Check out this blog from Scott Schang as an example.  Email Stacey for the code.
  • Sponsor Leads:  We need cash!  Know a person or company who would make a great RE BarCamp OC sponsor?  Email us and let us know.  We’ll follow up.
  • On-Site Technical Point of Contact (Filled!  Thanks Loren Nason…we couldn’t have asked for a better person for the job.) – We need a “techie” on site the day of the event to be the go to person for technical questions related to projectors, microphone, internet connection, etc.
  • Registration Manager (Filled!  Thanks to Bob Watson for taking the lead):  Need someone to take the lead in organizing the day of check-in process for attendees.  This includes preparing the sign in sheets, recruiting and organizing the volunteers who will check in people, organizing all the items needed at check in (paper, badges, sharpies, etc) and being at the event early to set up and manage the registration table.  Also responsible for breaking down the process and making sure that all check in sheets are reconciled and returned to coordinators.
  • Registration Table Workers:  (Filled!  Thanks to Derek Overbey and Linsey Planeta for agreeing to help man the table…say hello when you check in, would ya!)  A few people are needed to work with the Registration Manager to check in attendees as they arrive.
  • On Site “In The Know” Helpers:  3 volunteers are needed to help the day of the event with whatever odds and ends are required to help the planning team set up and run the event.  You will also be pointed out at the event as someone in the know who attendees can ask questions of if they have any during the day.  You will need to arrive early to the event and should be able to stay the full day.  You will also help us to break down the event (most of this is handled by the venue but there may be some odds and ends that need to be moved around and stuff to pick up/route back to peoples cars, etc.)

If you are interested in helping out with one of the above roles, please send Jaime Lindholm an email or contact one of the primary planning team.
